Youth With A Mission

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an interdenominational missions organization founded in 1960. It encompasses over 20,000 people and hundreds of ministries in more than 1,100 locations in almost every country of the world. YWAM strives “To know God, and to make Him known.”

YWAM focuses on reaching the world through three strands of ministry: Training, Evangelism and Mercy Ministry.

YWAM is dedicated to presenting the person of Jesus Christ to all nations to bring about change and transformation in all seven spheres of society: home, church, schools, government, media, arts and sports, commerce and science.

YWAM Hong Kong History

In 1979, an outreach team from YWAM Kona traveled to Hong Kong to work with the Vietnamese refugee camps.

This was the beginning of YWAM Hong Kong, which quickly burgeoned into a thriving training and ministry base as the government recognized YWAM's work and gave them a building in the Mid-Levels. Mother's Choice orphanage, Small World Christian Kindergarten, and various ministries as well as training programs were birthed out of the base.

When the camps closed in 1990 and the government took back the building, YWAM Hong Kong relocated to Kam Tin, the oldest village in Hong Kong. It was there that a group of staff with a heart for the arts started Master's Beauty Ministry, a performing arts ministry in 2008.

In 2011, Master's Beauty Ministry took up the call to multiply a new location in Hong Kong and pioneered YWAM Tuen Mun, focusing not only on the arts but also local service and mercy ministry.

Currently, YWAM Hong Kong has three operating locations, as well as several other ministries around the city, sharing God's love and message through many different means to reach every person in Hong Kong and beyond.
