Poverty Simulation
Did You Know...
Program Description
Our Poverty Simulation is designed to help participants experience the struggles of those living in poverty. Using real life stories as inspiration, we hope to arouse compassion in the hearts of city dwellers as they walk in the shoes of low income families, cardboard collectors and street sleepers.
Through the use of drama, discussion, role play and outreach, participants will gain a better glimpse of poverty through a holistic program that is both educational and practical. If it is your heart to see the streets of Hong Kong in a new way, we invite you to join us for a heartfelt experience. Come make a change in the city today!

Testimony
"At first, I didn’t know and could not empathise with cardboard collectors and the homeless. However, through this poverty stimulation I was able to go and meet such people. As a result, I can empathise with them more and have a better idea of how they feel, what they think and the struggles they face. I never knew poverty was so rampant, especially in Hong Kong, which is a well developed country."
I would just like to let you know what an absolutely amazing day we had at your centre, and just how impressive the poverty simulation activity was [from the structure of it to the resourcing, the set design and actors - it was incredible]. What you are doing with your programme is extraordinary. I have no other feedback other than that the day was absolutely perfectly run at every stage, and that the series of activities built on each perfectly. The students found it such a worthwhile experience and we look forward to coming again with future cohorts.
