At Our Doorstep - Weekly Food Distribution

 
 

Program Description

Since June 2016, we have been going every Friday to hand out food and goods to a local public housing estate through our Helping Hands initiative. Our beneficiaries are elderly-at-risk and low-income families and over time, we have seen good relationships built with the residents.

We have expanded our Helping Hands food distribution program to serve an additional public housing estate in Tuen Mun.

Volunteers

Come join us to distribute food and build relationships with the community. This is a great opportunity for you to talk to the community. Don't worry if you don't speak Cantonese! Come distribute food, smile and make people happy by serving them.

Program Description

This is a joined effort with another organization. We meet together at the market in Yuen Long to collect vegetable donations and move to Tuen Mun to pack those vegetables and distribute to the needy families and elderly.

Volunteers

If you would like to join us and collect vegetables from the Yuen Long market, meet us at the Yuen Long Market and go from there. We will go to an interim public housing estate in Tuen Mun to distribute vegetable bags to families and elderly-at-risk. This is a very hands-on program. Make sure you bring comfortable clothes that you don't mind to get dirty.
