Program Description

At our Blessing Bag events, our team runs a program consisting of games, exercises for the elderly and songs to bring cheer. At the end of the program, we hand out a food package (called “Blessing Bag”) to all attendees. The sorting and packing of the blessing bag happens at the YWAM Tuen Mun food bank facility.

This program is ideal for groups and individuals who want to do something that helps society and bring a smile to people’s faces.

The elderly we meet through this program often spend their weekends alone because of the lack of finances to shop or eat out. Some may find it cumbersome navigating through throngs of people at crowded shopping malls. During home visits, we hear many elderly lament about their loneliness and find their situation heartbreaking.

It is our desire to foster social integration through this activity, by giving the elderly a platform to interact with others and be part of a community.
